Introducing: The Walkabout – An Immersive Kangaroo Habitat Experience

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from right here in Folsom, Louisiana – The Walkabout, our newest immersive experience at Global Wildlife, is officially open!

This unique habitat invites you to come face-to-face with Australia’s iconic Red Kangaroos in a setting designed to connect people and animals without fences or glass. Located on our 900-acre preserve, The Walkabout lets you meander freely among our relaxed and curious mob of kangaroos for an up-close, unforgettable wildlife experience.

Guests of all ages can enjoy this peaceful encounter with these gentle animals – whether they’re hopping up to say hello, lounging in the shade, or soaking up the sun with a joey tucked in a pouch. Strategically places benches offer great spots to relax, observe, and maybe even snap that perfect kangaroo selfie!

One star of the show is Popcorn, an 8-month-old bottle-raised Red Kangaroo who’s already capturing hearts with her playful antics and cuddly nature. She’s been delighting guests and is sure to be a highlight of your visit.

While we encourage exploration, guest safety and animal welfare are top priorities. These kangaroos are calm and accustomed to people, but to ensure a peaceful environment, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (at a 1:5 ration).

Please note that The Walkabout is a standalone, limited availability experience and is normally open Saturdays and Sundays. It does not include our Safari Wagon Tour or Private/Semi-Private Pinz Tour – those can be booked separately at globalwildlife.com/encounters.
